Riders Embraced Dump the Pump 2009
Here are some comments about the day:

“It was actually very simple to ride the COTA bus this morning,” said Commissioner Brooks. “And, I really enjoyed the trip. As promoted by Dump the Pump Day today, energy independence and saving money go hand-in-hand. I discovered that each person that takes public transportation instead of driving their own vehicle can save on average $8,000 per year and saving money is even more important in these times.”
Paula Brooks, Commissioner, Columbus, OH

"We gave free rides all day on our fixed routes, as a result we had increased ridership and something a bit unusual. We had a few instances of passengers buying food for the whole bus with the savings they got from the free rides. Not only was this a transit event, it became social event which I would expect to grow in future years".
Benjamin S. Capelle, Director, Clermont Transportation Connection
